Our friend's Mark and Cindy's oldest boy, Matt's had his Bar Mitzvah today. The ceremony was beautiful and the reception fun! They had so much for the kids (adults) to do. They had a photographer that had dress up stuff and as you can see by the photo's at the end we had our family photo taken...the real us.
Matt's ride to the reception. Nice Matt!

It was a beautiful (cooler) day out so we decided to take Kassandra to the park for a bit.
First up: A stroll
Daddy says to Kassandra "Look Kassandra, back in Poppy's day this is where they got their water from. They didn't have plumbing like we do now".
And as a final treat...swinging. Kassandra loves the swing so much

Daddy's Birthday
Since I had Tom open his gift early I had to make up for it somehow...now if only I knew how.... I know...a candle on the cake for each year! Good thing the smoke detectors are not in the kitchen. (check out the smoke in the second picture)

2 celebrations in 1
Happy Valentines Day! And a very Happy 1st Valentine's Day to our baby girl!
Since I decided to combine Tom's Valentine's gift with his birthday gift I gave him the option of opening his gift now or later (with a little persuasion for now). Each box individually wrapped, and covered in packing tape then placed on top of one another and wrapped again in packing tape to make one big gift. The gifts could only be opened from top to bottom as per my request (ok, order). LOL
Apparently the only way to open the presents was with a knife (although I made him open the first one without any assistance just for the fun of it)
Honey, you are having a lot of fun with that knife.
I got him a bunch of hard back books to take him of the "scent" of his actual gift - I got him the kindle since he was drooling over mine all the time.
Kids got pizza rolls and fries for dinner. Adults got Steak and shrimp.
