Meet Harry

When Tom and I went to birthing class we meet another couple Alexis and James.  They had the same due date as we did.  We did not exchange numbers or anything but later wished that we did.  When we went to check into the hospital Alexis was walking the halls.  I guess it was meant to be that we become friends along with Kassandra and Harry becoming friends.  This was our first meet up since seeing one another at the hospital.  In addition it was me and Kassandra's first play date with our mommy and me group. 

Like Father Like Daughter

Although there is me somewhere in Kassandra (I don't see it) you can sure see everyone else.  She has my dad's eye color right now, which I hope stays that way.  To me she has my mom's scent.  Then there's Tom, she has his everything!  Eye shape, mouth, appetite, gas and even receding hair line (luckily she will get more hair in to cover this).  Then when Tom checked out the blog he said "Hey, she even has the same pose as me!"  Of course I had to go back and check it out and sure enough....

Kassandra 1 month dr appointment

On May 20th Kassandra had her 1 month doctor appointment.  Kassandra is doing great and is on track.

Kassandra is 1 month old

It is hard to believe that Kassandra is 1 month old. It has been quite the month and yes, it went by so fast. It has been so wonderful in getting to know Kassandra and her ways. She is such a great baby! I still have to wake her during the nights for her feedings. I think I have it easier then Tom because of this. I can sleep any time I want to - day or night. Tom can't as he has to work. The good news is that he is learning how to tune her out during the night so he is not waking up as much anymore. We are working on "tummy time" but so far she is doing great in lifting her head. And her smiles! Oh how we love them so.

Storytime at Town Center

Town Center, which is located on S. Las Vegas Blvd offers Story Time during the summer.  The couple that runs story time is great.  The wife reads the books and in between the husband does magic tricks, makes balloon animals and more!  What a great way to expose kids to books and make it fun.  Then there is a park right there with a water fountain that kids can play in after.  Anyway Town Center is one of my favorite areas (although it's busy) and especially now with Kassandra I can't wait to spend more time there.

On this day Kassandra and I meet David and Logan there to listen/watch story time.  We had a wonderful visit.

Kassandra and Gwen

As you know I watch Gwen.  She loves "the baby" and while I care for Kassandra she watches me and does the same to the dolls that we have.  Because of this when she gets to hold her she is so excited.  She likes to comfort Kassandra.

Chuck E Cheese

Kassandra and I meet David and Logan at Chuck E Cheese.  (Note to self:  go during school year, when they first open and it's peaceful!!!)  Logan was so excited to see Kassandra and was also so excited to be at Chuck E Cheese - what a day!!!  We all had a great time and Kassandra had a glimpse of what her future holds for her which is lots of playing :)

Ooops

So by this point I have had Kassandra pee while I was changing her diaper twice.  I also miss-judged and changed her diaper in the middle of her BM (that's a #2 to the rest of you) and is a whole other story.  Of course I warned Tom about this and stated that he needed to be fast.  Well of course his miss-judgment will be published while mine remain between me and those that saw it happen. oops I just told you guys about it.  Anyway Tom was getting Kassandra ready for bed and had her on our bed.  He went to change her diaper, figured he would be fast but then realized he had nothing ready for her.  So by the time he was ready for Kassandra, she had taken care of business.  Now on top of everything else we need to change our sheets.

P.S.  Tom, your legs need a tan!  lol.

Bye-bye Na-Na

All good things must come to an end.  In this case it is time for Na-Na to go home.  She has been out here taking great care of Aunt Pat as well as spending time with her second granddaughter.  We were lucky to have her out here during this time.  Come back again soon Na-Na.

Christine's First Mother's Day

First, let me start by wishing all the Mother's out there a Happy Mother's Day. 

Secondly, I will wish Tom's mom Jan a Happy Mother's Day.  Thank you for spending the day with us.  We really loved having you here.
Third, to my Step mom Jan.  We hope that you have a wonderful Mother's Day.  We can't wait to see you.  Thank you for always being there for us.
Fourth, to my other mom Terry.  We hope that you have a wonderful Mother's Day.  You have been a part of our lives since we were little.  I am so lucky to be able to say that I had two mom's growing up.  Thank you for always being there and for all of your help.
And finally to my mother.  You are dearly missed each and every day but it is on this special day that I try not to miss you but to remember all of the special days that we had together.  Thank you for making me who I am today.

Tom spoiled me on my first Mother's Day.  I could not have imagined a better way to spend the day then at home relaxing with a PERFECT BBQ!  Thank you.

Cindy comes for a visit

Thanks for the visit Cindy.  Kassandra can't wait for you to come back however she has requested that you bring the boys.

Kassandra and I spent the day with Logan

David and Wendy had "Date Afternoon" so Kassandra and I got to spend the day with Logan.  I'm not sure who had a better time, Logan or me and Kassandra so I'll call it a tie.
We started out by playing at home.  Logan and I played animals while Kassandra took a nap.  Then when Kassandra woke we played with her for a bit.  Finally we went down to the park.  It was so beautiful outside and Logan wanted to run around.

Kassandra turns 2 weeks old!

Kassandra turned 2 weeks old!  Where did the time go???  

We are very lucky so far to have such a great baby.  Kassandra is a great eater.  We do not have any issues in feeding her and usually have to tell her when it's time to eat.  She sleeps in her bassinet next to me and I have to wake her to feed her during the night.  Because she is such a great sleeper I have been able to sleep well at night and do not feel to sleep deprived.

Kassandra is a very curious baby.  She loves to be held, taken to different places and tries to take in all she can.  

Becoming Parents is the best thing that has ever happened to me and Tom.  We have loved every moment with Kassandra and can't wait to see what the future holds for us.
